We are grateful to live, work, and raise our children on the beautiful traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation

OUR VALUES

PLAY BASED LEARNING

We believe play is the foundation of learning; by creating a curious environment, we encourage the children to explore and learn

INDEPENDENCE

We provide a safe educational environment for the children to grow their self independence

COMMUNITY

It takes a village! We have a little village and a strong sense of community that we love to foster

FRIENDSHIP BUILDING

We aim to lead by example, so the children have the opportunity to learn how to be empathetic and inclusive and build meaningful relationships

About

The Naramata Childcare Society building with a beige exterior, located behind a fenced playground and parking lot, with trees and a partly cloudy sky in the background.

Located at Naramata Elementary School, in beautiful Naramata, BC, we are a licensed, not for profit childcare center that is eligible for CCOF and ACCB and is governed by a volunteer parent board of directors. Established in 1981, we now operate a daycare program for pre-school aged kids, and a before and after school program for students attending Naramata Elementary School.

Our Philosophy

An indoor classroom with children's tables and chairs, colourful decorations, and a play area with artificial grass.

At Naramata Childcare Society, we nurture our kids' curious minds and kind hearts through child-led, play-based learning, positive reinforcement and role-modelling.

We embrace each child’s uniqueness and support them to grow and learn in their own style.

Our centre provides a safe, calm learning environment that fosters opportunities to promote each child’s independence, social skills and problem solving.

Our learning style is child-led. We incorporate an emergent curriculum, meaning we base our daily learning activities on the interests, needs and experiences of each child.
